Pharmaco-behavioral Profiling Identifies Suppressors of Autism Gene-Associated Phenotypes in Zebrafish

Listed in NCBI GEO

In this study, we establish a pharmaco-behavioral database of behavioral signatures of 520 U.S. FDA-approved drugs using high-throughput assays of basic sensory processing and arousal behaviors in larval zebrafish and define highly conserved effects of common psychotropic medication targets.

Description

By leveraging the behavioral profiles of nine large-effect ASD gene mutants, we identify enrichment of pharmacological mechanisms that anti-correlate with subgroups of ASD genes informed by a precision medicine approach.
