Single cell RNA-sequencing across striatal subregions and cell types in early-grade Huntington’s disease and controls [snRNA-Seq]

Listed in NCBI GEO

The molecular mechanisms that underlie striatal subregional and cell subtype-specific vulnerabilities and the cascade of molecular events occurring during Huntington’s disease remain poorly defined.

Description

Gene expression libraries from early-grade Huntington’s disease striatum across two striatal subregions were profiled and compared to controls to understand dynamics of cell loss and transcriptional dysregulation. These data identify dorsal-biased vulnerability to MSN cell loss and transcriptional dysregulation, characterize resilient MSN subtypes (D1 interface MSNs), determine a spatial dorsolateral-ventromedial axis of vulneraiblity, and define principles of MSN de-repression.
